Post Mortem

  • Game was too challenging: A lot of players had difficulty playing the game for the first time and some features was not always as intuitive for some players than it was for others. A number of players did not understand the controls as they often skipped straight to the gameplay without reading the instructions.

  • Art was really good: Due to deciding on an art style really early on, we were able to get a consistent art style and art guide throughout the whole development of the game. It was due to good planning and good communication from the team, and I was able to facilitate good flow of communication throughout the process.

  • Addictive: A lot of players detail that the game’s simple premise and rouge-like nature promotes repeated playthroughs. The difficulty of the game and the perceived fairness of the enemies kept players wanting to play the game in order to get better at it.
