Post Mortem
Developing Tri and Blok in Unreal Engine involved heavy backend coding, minimal UI, and pre-built assets, posing challenges. Limited online help caused time constraints and unresolved issues, particularly with syncing animations, sound effects, and battle mechanics.
Due to miscommunication, bugs, and personal issues, we missed deadlines, leading to rushed development. Maya bug caused weeks-long import halt. Rushing led to scaling back our vision and abandoning ideas.
Outside of game systems, the acquisition of models, animations, and textures was time-consuming. We mainly utilized scratch models and animations due to Maya issues and miscommunication. When we eventually obtained them, time constraints required quick implementation with sound effects to align with existing game systems for our "final" build.
